Wildlife
The diversity of habitats on Pungalina-Seven Emu supports a rich assemblage of wildlife, including many species found only in northern Australia. Rare birds such as the
Purple-crowned Fairy-wren rely on the river’s fringing vegetation, while the adjacent woodlands feature iconic species such as the
Australian Bustard. Over 40 mammal species occur on Pungalina-Seven Emu, with
Short-eared Rock-wallabies patrolling the escarpments, overlooking savannas inhabited by the
Spectacled Hare-wallaby and the
Northern Brown Bandicoot.
